Old foes Dundee were overcome 59-54 by the University of St Andrews women’s basketball side who now advance into the semi-finals of the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) Basketball Trophy.
The uni team, who had beaten Dundee 73-60 just the night before their quarter final cup encounter in a league clash, will now go on to face either Lancaster or Bradford in the semis.
The side was guided to the semis thanks to captain Hannah Rogers’ 19 points and Katie Dickerson’s 26.
Head coach Anna Jablonski said: “Dundee are a tough side but it was a great win for us.
“Having beaten them the night before that could have inspired them.
“But we were the better team got the win. I don’t actually think that we’re playing our best basketball yet either.”
The St Andrews students will face their opponents away from home on March 12.
