THE tennis courts at Viewforth Place in Pittenweem have been given a new lease of life after completion of work to improve drainage, resurfacing, re-spraying and relining.

This Saturday at 1pm, the club is holding its relaunch event, when the courts will officially be re-opened by Dr Alistair Kennedy, the honorary president, who has been involved at the club for well over 50 years.

Liz Rogers, club secretary, said: “This is a celebration of our 90th anniversary, an opportunity for everyone to see and play the courts with the new equipment.

“We have had a great deal of support from the primary school, the community council, ActiveFife, East Fife Sports Council and Tennis Scotland – in fact, so many people have offered help we hope to see them all there – and we hope to see old and new members alike, sharing memories and supporting the club.”
