THREE aces is a hard score to beat.

But these Leven Golfing Society members did exactly that on the season’s close.

In the Autumn Texas Scramble with neighbours Leven Thistle, the trio all holed out in one.

First was Jackie Taylor, a 6 handicapper, at the 170-yard 7th hole with a 4 iron. This was his third ace, the first at the150-yard 5th in 1987, the second at the 185-yard 15th in 1993, leaving him withonly the 5th to get a full house of par 3s at Leven.

Second was 10-handicapper Derek Brown, also at the 7th, playing a rescue club. This is his second ace, the first some 35 years ago. i

The final ace was Jim Watson, another 10 handicapper, at the 5th playing a 7 iron at 160 yards. This is also his second, the first being at the 7th in 1980\81.
