Fife Flyers’ top points scorer from last season has moved to a rival Elite League club.
Ned Lukacevic has joined play-off winners Coventry Blaze after racking up 28 goals and 38 assists in 62 games for Fife last season.
The skilful Montenegro-born forward joined Flyers in December 2013 and averaged 1.16 points per game over 94 EIHL appearances.
Reacting to the 29-year-old’s departure, Flyers head coach Todd Dutiaume told the Press that his top scorer can be replaced.
“We had our year end meetings with everybody and let them know we intended to take our time and make the right choice of guys to bring back,” he said.
“I guess Ned didn’t want to wait around – that’s fine and we wish him all the best.
“He certainly produced some exciting moments out on the ice but we’re moving forward and talking to a lot of different guys, who we’re hoping will bring work ethic and excitement at the same time.”
