East Fife supporters refuse season ticket refunds

East Fife fans have continued to show their generous side by snubbing season ticket refunds.

With the season not being played out, those with a season book would have been entitled to a refund on the games which weren’t played and they obviously couldn’t attend.

The Methil side, like others across the country, would have been obliged to pay out.

But the Bayview support won’t hear of it.

Chairman Jim Stevenson said this week that the continued generosity of fans was very much appreciated.

“First and foremost I want to thank everyone who has been helping the club and I hope everyone is staying safe and not having too hard a time,” he said.

“Everybody can see what’s happening at the moment after the votes we’ve had and we know we’re not playing football.

“We don’t know when we’re going to start, but we know what league we’re going to be in.

“Hopefully it all settles down and we get on and somewhere along the line we get dates and get back to playing football.

“A special thank you to all of our season ticket holders who have helped the club by donating the money we would have been due them back.

“This is very, very helpful; a great help at this time.

“We’d also like to thank all the people on the Go Fund Me page which has done well.

“We absolutely support it because all donations are very welcome.

“But we would never force anybody at all to donate to our club at this time because things are hard.”

Mr Stevenson was speaking during the East Fife FC player of the year awards which are available to view online now at eftv.info

The awards, which had to be held online, were set up by Laura Anderson for EFtv and saw each winning player, Mr Stevenson and boss Darren Young provide short recorded speeches.

The evening was presented by club director Liam Anderson.
