Association president Bill Wardlaw did the honours by blessing the water with Scotland’s finest and making the first cast of the season in what was an all too brief lull before Storm Dennis arrived.

The anglers did their best to make the most of the conditions but they were fighting a losing battle.

Things deteriorated further throughout the day so no surprise that fish were not caught as river levels continued to rise.

Last season ended well with a late run of salmon and sea trout resulting in the best catch recorded for many years.

Association membership is open to all for all age groups with an interest in angling, the river and it’s wildlife where otter and kingfisher sightings are commonplace.

Memberships are available from local outlets or from the secretary further details can be found on the web site. www.edenangling.org
