It’s the first of two European Tour events being held in Wales with the ISPS Handa Wales Open scheduled for next week.

Connor is aiming to build on a positive showing at the English Championship where he finished in a tie for 19th place.

Rounds of 65, 69, 68 and 69 helped him rebound from the disappointment of a missed cut at the Betfred Masters the week previous and won Connor a cheque for €10,463.79 and 22.8 Race to Dubai points.

The Celtic Classic marks a return to tour for Calum who sat out the English Championship, won by England’s Andy Sullivan by a massive seven shots.

This week’s event, played at the Celtic Manor Resort, again sees the cream of the European Tour stay on these shores with Connor and Calum competing against the likes of Lucas Bjerregaard, Thomas Pieters and Joost Luiten.

Connor has Spaniard Carlos Pigem and German Maximilian Kieffer for company in his opening two rounds while Calum plays with Englishman Garrick Porteous and France’s Antoine Rozner.
