Following the announcement by the Scottish Government that Phase 2 of the route map for cricket will start on June 29, cricket clubs will be able to use outdoor cricket facilities, including nets and pitches, for exercise and training.

Cricket Scotland, the governing body for the sport in the country, has issued a comprehensive piece of guidance for clubs to make sure they return safely.

Amongst those will be Falkland, who say they are looking forward to getting Scroggie Park open again.

“It’s a small step in the right direction,” said the club.

“Very strict regulations remain in place and we are doing all we can to ensure we have our facilities open and available to members as soon as we possibly can.”

Cricket Scotland have laid out nine pieces of key guidance for clubs to return safely, including advice on equipment, nets and use of clubhouses.

“The purpose of these guidelines is to offer practical guidance to players and clubs on the steps they should take to remain safe whilst undertaking exercise in an outdoor cricket club environment,” it says.
