Falkland Trail Runners hit the beach
On a course where you had to be prepared to get your feet wet, the high quality race attracted athletes from around the country with the first five finishers all from different athletic clubs.

Hide AdTaking to the course like a duck to water, Central AC’s Calum Phillip was a wide margin winner coming home almost two and half minutes ahead of his nearest pursuer who was Ben Kinninmonth of Fife AC who was followed across the finish line by third Bryan Innes from PH Racing.
In fourth was Kevin Rogers (Perth Road Runners) and in fifth was Iain Redmond (Kirkintillioch Olympians).
Leading home a strong contingent from the Falkland Trail Runners was, in ninth place, was Ieuan Ward followed by 12th Kevin Murray and 15th Susanne Lumsden.

Hide AdThe latter was also third overall in the female category behind Corstorphine AC duo Georgia Ledingham and Katherine McLeod.
A total of 72 runners completed the course.
The Falkland Trail Runners finishing places were: 9 Ieuan Ward, 12 Kevin Murray, 15 Susanne Lumsden, 26 Lyle Allan, 31 Kevin Funnell, 50 Alan Gardiner, 56 John Malone, 58 Fiona Malone, 63 Eric Nachman, 67 Jude Alcock, 68 Rosemay Lee, 71 Sandra Gardener, 72 John Lee.
