Fife running community mourns death of Petra Vesela
The Fife running community is mourning the loss of much-loved member Petra Vesela, who has sadly passed away.
Known for her kindness and positivity, Vesela was a familiar and uplifting presence at training sessions, races and Parkruns.
Originally from the Czech Republic, Vesela moved to Kirkcaldy where she built a life for herself and her two sons.
Within the local running community she became known not only for her dedication to the sport but also for her warm personality.
During her time with the Wizards, she competed in several major races including the Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy half marathons, while also setting personal best times at Kirkcaldy Parkrun.
Her passion for running was matched by her love of the outdoors, and she often spoke of her appreciation for the natural beauty around Kirkcaldy.
“It is one of life’s cruelties that sometimes the people who have the greatest impact are the ones taken far too soon,” one club member said. “At the Wizards we will treasure our memories of Petra dearly.”
