Building has already taken place and it has been operating since 2011. It has now been given the green light by the council with conditions.

The fishery includes a cabin and storage hut, fishing platforms and boat jetty and is located adjacent to Carriston Reservoir, north of Burnside Farm steading.

A total of 29 fishing platforms are installed around the reservoir which is stocked with a variety of fish species, including rainbow trout, brown trout, perch, and roach.

Conditions listed to meet approval included painting a storage container green - it is currently white and features various logos and lettering - to fit in with the surrounding countryside, and the removal of an old caravan.

The council said both conditions must be met within three months.

It also noted: "It is considered that the proposed infrastructure and outbuildings to facilitate the proposed fishery use of the reservoir would be well sited and would not have an adverse visual impact on the countryside.

"It is determined that the proposed works would are well-located in respect of available infrastructure whilst protecting the overall landscape and environmental quality of the area."

There are 17 parking spaces for visitors.
