The 24-year-old was aiming to build on his solid start to the new European Tour campaign but rounds of 72 and 68 saw him miss the weekend in the low scoring tournament held at the 13th Beach Golf Course.

The tournament was won by Min Woo Lee.

After the event, Connor took to social media and said: “Missed the cut by one in Australia - always sucks!

“13th Beach looked as great as ever

“Congrats to Min Woo Lee in your first win bro.

Home now for me to get better and prep for Oman.

“Onwards we go.”

Connor’s focus now turns to that event in Oman, The Oman Open.

Also likely to tee up in Oman is Calum Hill.

The Kinross pro sat out last week’s tournament in Australia so will resume his Race to Dubai campaign fresh at the event which tees off on February 27.
