Glenrothes Cricket Club prepare for new season

The new cricket season is just around the corner and the town’s senior side is stepping up its preparations.

Glenrothes CC are scheduled to face nearby rivals Freuchie in a pre-season friendly next Sunday, May 16.

Freuchie have already started their friendly campaign, going down at the weekend to Falkland.

The town’s first team will bowl their first competitive ball on Saturday, May 22 when they travel to meet Falkland’s second side.

The first home game for Glenrothes comes the following Saturday when Breadalbane visit.

With cricket being a sport where players tend to keep their distance from each other naturally as part of the game, it’s anticipated that a full season can be completed.
