The sport is on hold until September 2021 thanks to this pandemic – making it the longest break for Fife Flyers since their return from a five-year absence in 1962.

We have rummaged through our archives for this gallery of true greats.

They are just some of the outstanding imports signed by a number of coaches who have built trophy winning teams around them.

Every fan will have their own 30 picks from the game’s modern era – the list is far from complete, but we hope the pictures from the past few decades spark memories of great games rinkside during the Ne'er holiday.
