The team were originally expecting to be competing with several other clubs in an official event which was cancelled due to the coronavirus situation.

However, having done all the preparation work over the last few months, they decided to go ahead anyway and to dedicate their efforts to raising funds for Brain Tumour Research in memory of their clubmate Terry Cullen who sadly passed away in September 2020.

First off was Chris Russell who started at midnight and took the baton from Kincardine to North Queensferry.

Next was Alan Davie who tackled the leg from North Queensferry to Dysart where he handed over to Kevin Hughes whose destination was St Monans.

Waiting at the fishing village was Iain Wallace who continued to St Andrews where he was succeeded by his wife Gillian Wallace for the long and winding stretch via Tentsmuir to Newport.

On the sixth and final leg was Mark McLean who took the team to the finish at Newburgh.

The overall time taken by the team was around 15 and a half hours which was a fantastic effort and would have made them very competitive had the original relay competition taken place.

So far over £3300 for Brain Tumour Research has been raised with their fundraising page still open for further donations.
