Matt along with pairs partner, Neil Shave, also finished in third place in the team event after an 18-round.

Following an amazing 2019 season, which Matt finished ranked number one in Scotland, number two in UK and number six in the world, he intends to go full power into 2020 and continue his streak of skill and quality play keeping him amongst the top players in the world.

2020 is another big year for footgolf, with the International World Cup scheduled to take place in September.

Matt’s schedule for 2020 is action packed, including playing in all corners of the UK, and international travel, which the team at MM Footgolf and sponsor Metpro are very supportive of. And he does all this at the same time as completing his final year of university to become a PE teacher.

Matt said: “I’m very excited to get this season underway, the courses are looking really good on the line up for this year and it should be very exciting to see what happens”

“Some of the performances on the day at Cluny were amazing, the top of the table kept changing and I knew I couldn’t make any mistakes, or that would give away the chances of winning.”

“Looking ahead to the year, it is going to be challenging.”
