May start for amateurs' league cup return
Our amateur football clubs are preparing for a return to competitive action at the beginning of May.
Sides across the kingdom have been back in training over the past couple of weeks following a recent easing of lockdown restrictions.
Although the training is to remain non-contact for the time being, the clubs are using the sessions to prepare for spring’s cup competition which was introduced following the decision to cancel the league season.
Fife Thistle are amongst those involved.
The club said: “Subject to restrictions being lifted, it was announced at Tuesday’s association meeting that we will return to competitive football on the May 1 with the Jon Harrison Trophy League Cup.”
