Small in number but big in stature Cupar swimmers make a splash

A small team of Cupar & District swimmers braved Storm Ciara to race in the Carnegie Open Spring Meet at Glenrothes.

In the freestyle events, Caera Baillie, Katie Duncan and Oliver Goad took part, with Oliver getting to the 50m final in the boys 15-16 age group and finishing second overall.

Breaststroke also proved successful with Caera, Katie, Helen Black and Ella McGeorge all competing. Helen achieved personal bests in all three distances (50m, 100m and 200m). Ella secured third place in the 13-14 girls 200m event, also with a new fastest time and swam another personal best in the 50m heats to get to the final and come sixth.

Only Caera and Helen braved the butterfly events, with Helen getting another personal best, and Caera doing the same to get into the 13-14 girls 50m final and coming eighth overall. Caera and Katie also competed in backstroke, with Caera recording a new fastest time in the 50m.
