The veteran, from North Bay, Ontario, previously played for Karlskrona HK and IK Oskarshamn in the Allsvenskan, as well as playing in Denmark, the AHL, CHL and IHL.

“I am very excited for the opportunity in Fife and I am very optimistic that we can have a very successful season with the group that is coming to the club this season,” Moyer said.

“I have been a part of three championships in the past four seasons and looking forward to contributing and building on that.

“We have a good balance of youth and experience and I feel that we can be a team that should be competing at the top of the standings throughout the season.”

Head Coach Todd Dutiaume added: “I’ve spoken to Russ a number of times and what struck me initially was his desire to play on a team that he felt he could help bring success to, and that he could play any role required in order to accomplish that.

“He is a guy that is extremely versatile and will feature heavily in all aspects of our line-up.

“I feel Russ will be a great asset this season and rounds off a solid line up.”

Flyers, who also announced the return of Brits Stephen Gunn and Thomas Muir in the past few days, are due to announce their new assistant coach at noon today.
