However, he is unsure how rugby will look if it does return in October and whether or not they will be competing in a national division or a more regionalised competition.

Speaking to the Fife Free Press, Mr Hannah said: “It’s great having a date to look forward to.

“It focuses the mind, the past few months has been not really knowing and it makes it more difficult to motivate yourself.

“We’ve been pretty good to be fair but now that we have this focus it’s good.

“We don’t know where we’re going to be, there might not be no national league and it might just be regional games.

“If there is not national structure we could be competing on a district basis and if it comes to that we would look to arrange games with teams at the same level as us.

“It might be a case of every cloud having a sliver lining as something like that could give us the chance to blood some of the younger players moving up to senior rugby so we could make that work.

“Obviously though the preference is for the normal National set up where we can test ourselves.”

Meanwhile, the club is preparing for the phased return by appointing a Covid-19 safety officer.

“There job will be to make sure the guidelines are being adhered to and to help keep things running smoothly as everyone gets back training.

“We have a couple of guys who are keen to take that role on and help the guys get back to training.”
