Sea fishing selectors seeking new young talent

Scotland’s selectors are looking for anglers to be involved in the under-16 and under-23 teams for the Home Internationals this summer.
They are in Kent from June 30 to July 3 and two selection dates have been confirmed.
The first is at Riverside Drive in Dundee on Saturday, March 21 and the second at Cairnryan Village in Dumfries and Galloway on Sunday, March 22.
Anglers only have to fish one match to be considered and exact times will be confirmed later. Dates and times are weather depending.
Meanwhile, Jamie McHale was crowned the Scottish Shore Cod Champion after battling against heavy seas on the Angus coast near Arbroath to pip 57 other anglers.
The gamekeeper from Gifford, East Lothian, hooked into a 6lb 7oz cod during the six-hour match with boundaries between Carnoustie and Ferryden.
Second was Gareth Black with a fish of 4lb 2oz.
Karl Wheatley won the heaviest bag award with 9lb 2oz with Ian Crombie (Dysart) second on 6lb 11oz, only four ounces ahead of McHale with his big fish.
