Cameron (10) qualified for the final last year and was keen to repeat his qualification in an effort to go one better at the final.

Competing in the Future Star (Over 8) category, he put in a fantastic display to record a score of 41 over 9 holes and take one step closer to the title that eluded him last year.

Not to be outdone by his older brother, Jamie played brilliant golf in the Future Star (Under 8) category to come in with a score of 44 over 9 holes.

When asked for Jamie’s motivation for competing this year Jamie’s dad Malcolm said: “He loves playing golf.

“He watched the sky sports coverage of his older brother Cameron last year and wanted to qualify for the National Final himself.”

Cameron and Jamie will now take on the UK and Ireland’s best Juniors at the final, which will be televised on Sky Sports.

Matt Bacon, Head of Events at American Golf couldn’t hide his excitement for the Junior Championship, “Some of the best junior golfers in the UK and Ireland have played in the championship over the past few years so I’m excited to see the boys and girls that have been here today taking the competition forward.

“There has been some incredible golf, all played in the best spirit of the game.”
