In a friendly occasion that’s open to all golfers, players who live in St Andrews will be challenging all-comers from anywhere else in the world, with the event being played over the town’s famous New and Jubilee Courses on Sunday, November 27.

The match, which is being organised by local charity St Andrews Partnership with the generous support of St Andrews Links Trust, forms part of the town’s St Andrew’s Day Celebrations.

The partnership’s chairman Jim McArthur said: “Our first two events sold our completely - in fact they were oversubscribed – and so we are delighted to be working with the Links Trust to stage the match again.

“This will be a great chance to play at the Home of Golf in an informal, fun event - and all for a bargain entry fee, which supports our charitable activities in St Andrews.

“We would encourage both locals and visiting players to sign up without delay, because we will have a maximum of 144 spaces available.”

He added, “Our event is designed to bring together the local golfing community with the many visitors who will be in St Andrews to enjoy the St Andrew’s Day Celebrations being held from 26-30 November 26-30.

“We believe that St Andrews is ideally placed to become the leading venue for St Andrew’s Day events around the world, which is why this golf event purposely has an international outlook. Last year we had entrants from five different countries, and we hope to increase that number this time around.”

The match will be played in a fourball, full handicap format (shotgun start) with a variety of prizes on offer.

Single players or teams of two can enter.
