Step Rock don't look back after a great start
Getting the younger swimmers off to a great start in the first race – 25m backstroke – was Freya Hedley, whose sub-25 second time saw her secure the club’s first of six flashes.
Following that up in the 50m backstroke were Katrina Wood and Maddy Wallard, both swimming under 50 seconds for the first time.

Hide AdDaniel Wilson was unlucky to miss out on his flash band by just 0.07 seconds in the same event.
Emmy Wallard swam an accomplished 25m breaststroke.
Continuing the too-fast awards, Mirren Bell secured her fourth and final flash – in 50m breaststroke – that will see her move up to the Fife League in May.
Rosemary Poe held won the 25m butterfly, againing her flash band.
Fraser Stewart finished over three seconds ahead of his nearest rival in winning the 25m butterfly, the same margin bringing first place to Esmee Thoms in the 50m event.
Finn Bell raced superbly, winning the 25m freestyle.

Hide AdTara Wallace gained her first ever flash in the 50m freestyle; Jack Anderson winning the boys event.
Further successes followed in the relays, with all teams finishing in the top three.
In the afternoon Fife League, competing strongly in the boys 11/12 age group were Harry Paul, Hamish Noble, Charlie Gillespie and Davie de Wolff, all winning at least one event.
Charlie’s new PB of 2:42 in the 200 freestyle was within the District Regional Programme qualifying time.

Hide AdFor the girls, Anna Hedley, Rachel Gibbins, Issy Olsen and Anna Malcomson all finished in top two places, with wins for Rachel (50m breaststroke) and Anna Malcomson (100m freestyle).
Notable performances also came from Angus McCallum (third in 50m breaststroke) and Isaac Laker (second in 200m breaststroke).
