Summer shines on Haddies at Shell Bay

Anster Haddies summer training began last Wednesday evening with an away night to Shell Bay.

George Findlay led a tough session consisting of laps around the numerous trails in the woods.

Kirkcaldy parkrun saw Jas Baillie continue his recovery with a time of 21:55 for the 5K route around Beveridge Park.

Over in St Andrews, Gordon Halliday covered the Craigtoun route in 21:19, chased by Allen Marr in 21:41.

On the other side of the globe in Melbourne, Australia, Duncan Hall ran the Maribyrnong parkrun in 20:26.

Training for the forthcoming Haddie West Highland Way run from Fort William to Tyndrum continued on Saturday morning as several runners tackled a route in the Pentland Hills, taking in five of the steep peaks in the national park.

Sticking to the less undulating terrain, the spring marathoners continued preparations for the London and Edinburgh marathons.

On Sunday morning, three Haddies ran the Round the Houses 10K race in Grangemouth.

Yvonne Dehn, Fiona Cruickshanks and Angela Small ran the urban course.

Whilst, through in Motherwell, the 54th Tom Scott Memorial race took place in Strathclyde Park.

The 10 mile race saw Dell Rae continue his London Marathon preparations to finish in tenth place overall in a time of 54 mins, with running sisters, Tracy Chalmers and Jackie Galloway running well to finish together in 1hr 38mins.

The second running of the Haddies summer Grand Prix is tonight (Wednesday).
