Tayport anxious to get back on track

TAYPORT will again be on home turf tomorrow, with Broxburn Athletic visiting the Canniepairt for an East Premier League fixture.

John McGlashan will be hoping to see his side get quickly back to winning ways and put last weekend’s poor performance behind them.

The manager was critical of his team’s work ethic against Downfield, saying: “I always praise the players when they do well, but the ingredients of our recent positive performances were missing against Downfield.

“Good results come from hard work.

“As far as I’m concerned, that was the last time another team works harder than us during the game.”

So, the ’Port support should see plenty of endeavour tomorrow afternoon and there may well be changes to the starting 11.

Grant Manzie picked up an injury last Saturday and had to be replaced in the first half.

Brian Livie was unavailable and new signing Robbie Raeside missed out due to injury.

The gaffer will be keen to have both of these players at his disposal for Broxburn’s visit.

One positive from last week was the return of Ronnie Kenneth, who came off the bench to open the scoring.

He will now be looking for a starting jersey.

Broxburn currently sit mid-table, albeit with games in hand.

They have lost both of their away fixtures to date, but come into the match on the back of a solid 3-1 win against Arniston Rangers.

Kick-off at the Canniepairt is scheduled for 2pm and supporters requiring further information should ’phone the Tayport F.C. newsline, on 01382 552755, or visit the club’s website, at www.tayportfc.org
