All the fun of the Dunnikier country fair this weekend

For Dunnikier Country Park will be hosting its annual fair for a third year.

Organisers hope that once again the whole community will come along over the course of the weekend and enjoy all that’s on offer.

Previous years have seen this event well attended, with it attracting around 1200 people.

For the last two years, the Dunnikier Country Park Development Group have organised the family friendly event, but this year its organisation is being handled by Paul Grubb, managing director of World of Parties.

He said: “It is a privilege to be putting this event on again this year. Like all events, it is a challenge and we hope that, like previous years, the public will come to the park for a great day out.”

The fair will this year be held over two days – Saturday and Sunday – with the activities getting underway at noon each day.

Among those attractions planned for 2016 are over 15 inflatables, including bouncy castles and slides; fairground rides for the kids; ponies and a live DJ providing music during the afternoons.

There will also be a range of local craft stalls for people to browse and Police Scotland will be present showcasing their police vehicle and mobile CCTV unit.

One of the highlights of this year’s fair will take place on Sunday when there will be a free birds of prey flying display to entertain the crowds.

Over 20 different birds will be present, with five of them taking to the sky to show off their acrobatic skills on how they would find prey in the wild.

Mr Grubb added: “I want to put on the biggest and best County Park Fair this year.

“Like always, admission is free to the park. If you would like to have a go on the bouncy castles or fun fair rides, you can either pay as you go or buy an unlimited use wristband, either way, I hope for good weather and I’m sure this will be a great event.”

Kirkcaldy MSP David Torrance will officially open the fair.
