All set for ticket race for 2017 Raith Hall of Fame

For the first time ever, they will ONLY be on sale in person at the box office at the Adam Smith Theatre.

They won’t be available anywhere else – or online.

Tickets go on sale from 10am on Saturday at the theatre box office.

They are also limited to four per person only.

The show has become the fastest selling event at the Adam smith Theatre, and is now considered one of the hottest tickets in town.

Launched five years ago it has inducted many Raith legends and brought the biggest names in sport to town – guests have included Gordon Strachan, Jeff Stelling, Joe Jordan, Liam Brady, Charlie Nicholas, Harry Redknapp, and, this week saw Paul Merson and Phil Thompson wow a full house at the Adam Smith with their footballing stories.

The organisers already have a shortlist of possible big names for next year, and are looking at ways of raising the bar even higher as they prepare to induct more legends.

Alistair Cameron, a member of the organising committee, said: “We want to have as many new people coming to the show as possible and this is maybe the best way to do it.

“We specifically picked a Saturday as this will be easier for people to get along. The theatre will bring in extra staff to deal with demand.”

Prices are £25 or £55 for a VIP ticket, plus a booking fee of £1 per ticket.

The 2016 show, staged on Monday, was hailed as a huge success by those who watched - and those who took part.

Cult favourite Marvin Andrews struggled to hold back the tears during his induction, where he thanked Raith Rovers for introducing him to football in the UK.

Former Prime Minister Gordon Brown gave a moving speech when introducing Jimmy Scott and Jimmy Todd, the two young players who passed away during WWI in 1916.

Former manager, Antonio Calderon, flew in from Spain especially for the event.

One of the highlights was the announcement of the Gourlay Inductee – in honour of the late Ally Gourlay.

The first recipient, international striker Stevie Crawford, was chosen by Ally at one of his very last Hall of Fame meetings before he passed away.
