In just over a year since it opened, The Adamson’s bar in St Andrew has become a smash hit with locals and visitors alike and it’s already turning out to be an ‘ace’ summer, with more than a thousand cocktails being served up each week.

Managing director Julie Lewis is absolutely delighted, saying: “It’s a smashing year – and we’re seeing fantastic growth in the business where our bar is now trading at the same level as our restaurant.”

She addeded: “We’ve absolutely fabulous guests – local residents as well as visitors from at home and abroad – and our mix of award-winning with simply stunning cocktails has proved a perfect match in St Andrews.”

The Adamson’s bar team is always experimenting, looking for new and innovative ways to create new drinks and to recreate the bar’s take on classic cocktails.

The Murray Mojito is one example.

Julie said: “Andy’s mum, Judy Murray, has been made an ambassador for Pimms – so we have our tribute to Judy and Andy with our Murray Mojito – using Eden Mill Love Gin, Sloe Gin, Lime Juice, syrup de Fraise, sweet vermouth and fresh mint leaves – to be enjoyed and never hurried!”

The bar’s biggest sellers of the summer include the Kate Moss inspired Espresso Martini, The Eastside – The Adamson’s tribute to New York’s Westside – and The Aphrodite, a winning mix of Alanhill Strawberries with ice cold Prosecco.

It’s forecast that by 2020 the cocktail market will account for 10 per cent of all spirits sales in the UK.

The Murray Mojito is available in The Adamson Bar throughout the month of July.
