Fife singer Jackie to take to the stage for final performance

The poignant concert ‘Jackie and Friends’ will bring together musicians who have contributed to Jackie’s legacy album ‘Behind Her Eyes’ – made possible by a crowdfunding campaign supported by fans and members of the public.

Although she will be on stage at Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall on September 20, Jackie’s current health complications will prevent her from performing for the whole duration of the programme, but a supportive guest line-up will ensure the heartfelt evening is one not to miss.

UK country singer, endorsed by country music aficionda and BBC Radio 2 DJ Bob Harris, Alan West will join Jackie along with singer-songwriter Steve Black and steel pedal drum player Dougie Stevenson.

Steve was also instrumental in helping create music for Jackie’s dream final album, imagined as a reflection of iconic and meaningful songs from her life.

He helped pen a song for Jackie, ‘I Stand Here Tonight’ which he will perform on the night.

“We were down at the British Country Music Awards and we had this idea that Steve, who I had originally met while he was touring Scotland with Alan West, could write a song that would sum up my life,” explained Jackie.

“He asked for a little bit of guidance and I wanted something that would sum up the final chapter of my life.

“What he came back with was a story of a love cut short. It was perfect. And my husband Steve and I were so pleased.”

The show will begin acoustically with Alan West and Steve Black before Willie Logan, who co-produced the album with Jackie’s husband Steve Thiebault, comes to the stage with his band Sphere.

Steve said: “He is really, really, really good! A virtuoso of his craft and well worth coming to see.”

All of the proceeds from the sale of tickets the album will go to Maggie’s Centre Fife.

Jackie launched the album at Maggie’s last week and has already raised hundreds of pounds for the charity.

She hopes to gain significantly more from the concert to give as much back to the centre as she can through a cash boost.

Showing the popularity of Jackie’s music and how the album has already resonated within the country music community, one of the songs has already made it to number one in the UK Country hotdisk chart where it has remained for four weeks.

“To get into the chart at number one for one week was amazing, but news of ‘One Night At A Time’ staying at number one in the chart for four weeks is just incredible.

“We didn’t expect it at all and are so pleased.”

Tickets cost £15 from the website onfife.co.uk. The album is priced at £10 and will be available to purchase on the night.
