Kirkcaldy singer songwriter Phil Ciarletta is poised to release debut single after turning lockdown into a positive opportunity.
After playing pubs and open mic nights with his acoustic guitar, the indie musician saw his burgeoning performing career brought to a halt by the outbreak of Covid-19 earlier this year.

The result is an album’s worth of written material, with his first single, The Sesh, set for release on Friday, a second in production for September and plans for an EP/album release in early 2021.
Phil, who performs as PG Ciarletta, writes all his songs based on relatable and reflective experiences and observations of friends, family and himself.
His influences range from the likes of Gerry Cinnamon, The View, Paolo Nutini and the Stone Roses, which have shaped his indie, alternative Scottish sound.

As Phil explained: “This is exactly what The Sesh is about - everyone has been on a ‘sesh’ that has gone too far, right? And experienced the contributing factors, and resulting highs and lows.”
The lockdown period was initially disappointing as PG Ciarletta’s first gig was cancelled. However, the experience has placed the artist in a far stronger position with the newly written original material.

The Sesh is available from iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and Google , and released on all media platforms from Friday.
