Burntisland to once again welcome Kinship carers

The Lang Toun Kinship Carers will hold the third annual Kinship Fun Day on June 25 in Burntisland where it has been held each year since it began.

Kinship carers are relatives and friends who care for children because their natural parents are unable to do so.

The event brings carers and children from around the country for a fun day filled with free or low cost activities. It is open to all kinship carers who must go to the web page to register or to download a form to fill in.

This will be the Kirkcaldy group’s last time hosting the event, with last year’s proving a great success and attracting around 300 adults and children.

Jean Paxton, spokesman for the group, said: “We hope this one will be even better and more will attend. Fife Council, Councillor Susan Leslie and the Showmen’s Guild, as well as the Rotary Club, businesses, Burntisland Civic Week Committee and many others helped make it a fantastic day and we hope everyone will want to be a part of it again.”

As well as enjoying time at the beach and park, the youngsters enjoyed a scavenger hunt and sports, a barbecue at the Toll Centre as well as cut price fairground rides and goody bags.
