Come and try anicent custom of apple wassailing in Kirkcaldy

An environmental charity is inviting the public to join them this Saturday to take part in the ancient custom of apple '˜wassailing'.

The event takes place in the Greeen Kirkcaldy Community Orchard at Ravenscraig Park’s Walled Garden to celebrate bumper apple harvest of 2017.

It includes storytelling, singing, poems, and noise to welcome the new growing year and say thanks for a fruitful harvest.

You can also sample traditional wassail drinks and food made from apples.

Attendees will also be able to take in the new community training garden and indoor classroom which will be opened earlier on the day as the first part of the Community Food Project.

The Apple Wassail begins at 1.30pm. Those attending are asked to dress warmly with appropriate winter footwear.
