In a collaborative effort, LLCC has been working with Kinross Road Runners, Kinross Pipe Band, and Kinross-shire Local Events Organisations (KLEO) to curate a series of events.

There will be a Kinross Half Marathon, a pipe band contest and the ‘Feel Good Fair’.

Gerry McGregor, events and bookings coordinator for LLCC, said it “promises to be an absolutely fantastic family fun day in Kinross”.

For the 33rd Loch Leven Half Marathon, Kinross Road Runners will welcome over 600 runners.

It will start at Clashburn Road and participants will tackle a route along the scenic shores of the loch, and the crowds will be cheering them on at the finish line in the campus.

There is also an under 12s Fun Run, organised by the Swanscacre Playgroup.

Gerry commented: “Maybe we will be watching a future Kinross half marathon winner in the making!”

And the air will be ringing all day when the Loch Leven pipe band contest kicks off.

Bands from around Scotland will be competing for a number of titles including Drums Majors Marching & Discipline and Highland Dancing Display by Lawson’s School of Dancing.

The afternoon of music will finish with Final Massed Bands at 4pm.

Talking about the fair, Gerry added: “As part of the event there will be a Feel Good Fair, which will include lots of wonderful stalls by local crafts, charities and community groups.

“There will also be stalls both inside the games hall and out on the field, including the Potager Garden, World Challenge, Teenage Cancer Trust, Kinross Primary PC and Aspire Youth Leader Group from Kinross Parish Church.

“This, together with many crafts such as woodwork, jewellery, photographic prints, jams, preserves, glassware, textiles, celebration cakes, knitted items and artwork will make for a great afternoon.

“As part of the Feel Good Fair, Live Active Leisure will be providing their popular Family Sports Activities. There will be lots of different activities.

“We hope there will be plenty of children and young adults taking part in sporting activities and having fun with their family and friends.”
