Dining in style '“ in Kirkcaldy shop window!

Some historical figures from Kirkcaldy’s past are set to make an appearance in the retro dining experience on Saturday, when they will be enjoying a meal inspired from the past, in the shop window of the Marie Curie shop on the High Street at its junction with Tolbooth Street.

The ‘Dinner Down Memory Lane’ will see guests getting together to share a meal provided by The Wheatsheaf pub, just around the corner from the charity shop.

Kirkcaldy’s Marie Curie shop is the only one in Scotland chosen to promote the fundraising event which aims to get people enjoying a meal together around the table while raising much-needed cash for the charity which provides care for terminally ill people throughout the UK.

Three sittings will take place in the shop window between 11.30am and 1.30pm, with Roger Mullin MP joining in the 12.30pm one.

Volunteers will be out around the High Street collecting donations for the charity, and information packs on how to host an event of your own will also be available from the shop.

Meanwhile anyone who would like to consider volunteering opportunities in the town is invited along to a Volunteer Evening arranged by the local Marie Curie fundraising committee.

The social event will take place on Wednesday (October 5) in the St Clair Tavern, St Clair Street, Kirkcaldy from 7.30-9pm.

There will be representatives from the fundraising group, the Marie Curie shop, the community helper service and Marie Curie nurses as well as Fife Voluntary Action and K107, Kirkcaldy’s community radio station.
