Last year’s event saw almost 2000 people take part raising thousands for the charity.

Anyone wishing to take part in Sunday’s fundraiser must pre-register online, ideally a minimum of 48 hours before the event.

The 10k event begins at 9.30am, while the 5k sets off at 11.30am to avoid congestion on the course.

A Cancer Research UK spokesman said: “Every pound raised in sponsorship helps more people survive and will bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.”
