DUST off your leather jackets. pull on your bobby socks ... the show hailed as ‘the world’s number one musical’ is heading to Fife following a four-year West End run that was positively electrifyin’.

The Alhambra Theatre in Dunfermline will be rockin’ and rollin’ as ‘Grease’ takes to the stage next month for one week only as part of a tour of the UK and Ireland.

The cast includes blond baritone and 2007 ‘X Factor’ finalist Rhydian Roberts, who’ll be playing Teen Angel alongside Danny Bayne as Danny (winner of ITV’s ‘Grease is the Word’) and West End favourite Carina Gillespie as Sandy.

‘Grease’ has been firmly established in the cultural hall of fame for around 40 years and has captured the hearts of millions with unforgettable songs like ‘You’re The One That I Want’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted to You’, ‘Summer Nights’ and ‘Grease is the Word.’

Choreographed by Arlene Phillips, it’s the ultimate feel-good musical - an extravaganza of fun, energy and vibrant physicality peppered with just the right amount of young romance and teenage angst.

With its rock n’ roll numbers, cheerleaders and slicked-back hair, it embodies 50s pop culture perfectly and is guaranteed to have audiences hand-jiving the night away.

Claire Fletcher, PR manager for the Alhambra, said: “We are absolutely delighted that ‘Grease’ is coming to the Alhambra.

“It is a huge coup both for the theatre and for Fife to have one of the UK’s biggest touring musicals gracing our stage.

“A record 8000 people came along to the recent production of ‘Blood Brothers’ and I’m certain that ‘Grease’ will smash that record.”

‘Grease’ opens at the Alhambra on September 17 and runs until September 22.
