It may have been a misty start but the 275 runners, joggers and walkers in attendance were in high spirits, enjoying a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday to Us” before the start.

Afterwards there was cake aplenty at an after-party, when various presentations were made by organisers Adrian Wood and Gary Ovenstone, two of the founders of the St Andrews event.

The event is part of the national parkrun movement - for more details see www.parkrun.org.uk/standrews.
