Following on from the successful events of the last five years, the date of this year’s Round The Horn Advent Calendar Trail will be November 12, with doors open from 10am to 5pm.

The trail will consist of 10 venues for members of the public to visit, with 17 artists, designers and makers exhibiting their work, some for the very first time.

Painting, jewellery, ceramics, prints, textiles, homewares, accessories, papercrafts, gifts and more will be available to view, sample, buy and commission, and visitors will be able see some of the work in progress, watch demonstrations, discuss techniques as well as buy direct from each artist and witness first hand the inspiration which drives them to create.

The aim of the event is to forge a relationship between local people and makers and to make people more aware of the creative talent within and around Kinghorn.

To celebrate the event’s fifth anniversary and the hands-on nature of the event, the artists have all decorated a hand reflecting their own work. Each hand will be displayed at a venue and will help guide the way.

Completing the whole trail gives guests the chance to win a Christmas stocking full of goodies made by all the artists, but visitors are free to pop in wherever they want.

Leaflets with a map of the trail showing studio locations and information about each artist are currently being distributed around Fife.

But don’t worry if you don’t get one before the event.

There will be plenty available on the day, along with sheets to be stamped for entry into the Advent Calendar prize draw.
