Kirkcaldy restaurant under new ownership

A bar restaurant on Kirkcaldy High Street will be taken over just in time for Christmas.

The Tipsy Cow at the west end, which was opened by Kingdom Taverns in June, is to come under the ownership of Drummonds Hotel, Society & Legends (Kirkcaldy) Ltd from November 28.

A statement on its Facebook page said: “We have loved every minute of our adventure at Tipsy but we are very excited to see what the new management team have planned for the future!”

Bryan Reid, one of the new owners, said: “Liam and Lewis Melville launched a super brand earlier in the year and have dovetailed well with our business at Society over recent months.

“The daytime and nightlife in Kirkcaldy’s west end has grown and developed well during 2016.

“Society have bonded extremely well with O’Connells, The Penny and The Tipsy Cow, bringing you the customer, quality, safe, comfortable concepts and experiences to relax and enjoy, late into the evening and the early hours.

“It was such great relationships that led us to this fabulous addition to the Society, Legends and Drummonds Hotel families.

“We plan to continue the development of the ‘Tipsy’ brand to bring you even greater things moving forward into 2017.

“Kirkcaldy High Street for many years, hasn’t enjoyed the atmosphere and buzz it has currently.

“It is so wonderful to see so many people of all ages enjoying the west end again.”

To celebrate the change of ownership there will be a party held on Wednesday, November 30, St Andrews Day, starting at 7pm.

Kingdom Taverns’ statement added: “We would like to wish the new owners every success in their new venture.

“We would also like to thank all our customers for all their support.”
