Throughout Saturday and Sunday a stream of performers entertained at the Kings Hub on the High Street with a varied bill which included music, poetry and inspirational speakers – all of whom starred for free.

The biggest event for the Kings Live over the weekend took place at the Beveridge Suite on Saturday night at the Adam Smith Theatre with a line-up of Billy Bibby, X Factor finalist Luke Friend and Fife favourite Horse McDonald.

Stephen Barbour of the Kings said: “We launched our merch table at the Adam Smith where we gave Horse a t-shirt, but she wouldn’t take it for free, she insisted on paying for it to support the Kings.

“We had around 60-odd come along to the gig, but it sounded more like a couple of hundred, it’s a great room.

“A lot of people didn’t really register who Luke Friend was until they saw him, and then his set was amazing. He had a tour of the Kings too.

“Then Horse came on. It was the first time I’d seen her but she blew everyone away.”

Stephen said the weekend had been invaluable for the Kings’ campaign.

“Considering we only had three weeks notice with a week’s promotion to put all this together it was a great weekend for us,” he said.

“The Hub was full throughout both days and the numbers on our Facebook page for all the videos we’ve put up are massive. The ‘likes’ on shot up by over 100 in one day, we’re up to around 8000 now.

“So for us, in terms of PR, the numbers who came along and the amount of pics and films that were shared across social media, it was hugely successful.”
