Pop into the new Kings Hub in Kirkcaldy

The Kings Hub aims to keeping locals up to date with proceedings as well as displaying artefacts which have been uncovered during the refurbishment.

Stephen Barbour said: “We keep getting people stopping at the door and asking us questions. They want to see what the progress is and how the roof is coming along, so we thought this would be a good solution.

“It’s here for anybody to come along and ask us questions about how things are going, how the old YWCA building is coming along and there’ll be someone here to answer them.

“People have also been asking about things we’ve found in the building.

“We’ve found a lot of old signs, we’ve got the old newspaper that we found in the plasterboard from 1937 when the building was renovated, so we’re going to get that encased and on show.

“So as well as information the Hub is going to be a museum of the building too.”

Dave Clark added: “We’ve had one man already asking if he could buy a couple of the old signs so eventually we’re planning to hold a silent auction.”

The team are now taking bookings for a tour of the building which is taking place on Monday – the 112th anniversary of the Kings’ original opening.
