The one-day festival, which this year is being referred to as Pre-T – aiming to gear everybody up for T in the Park – will take place at the end of next month.

There’s already a cracking line-up of local bands in place, with fun activities planned for the whole family to enjoy.

Last year, the event was held early in May and was hampered by freezing winds, meaning attentance was not as high as had been hoped.

However for 2016, the community council will be providing a marquee facility, as well as a bar and fun fair rides.

The bands already confirmed include Resurrection Stone Roses Tribute, Joe Viterbo, 13 Tombs, Jed, Auxygen, Ambulances NeeNaw and Supa and da Kryptonites.

Alistair Suttie, chairman of the community council said: “LCC is looking forward to a bigger and better Promfest this year. We have moved it to the end of the May, to see if we get some better weather. Also, we have taken the precaution of hiring a marquee to provide some shelter.

“Obviously this is extra expense, which is why we are charging this year. However, at £11.50 (inc. admin fees) we think it offers great value.”

He added: “Already there is a lot of interest through our Facebook page where there is now a link to buy tickets.”

The festival takes place on May 29, from noon until 8pm. Head to www.yapsody.com/ticketing and search ‘Leven’ for tickets.
