Silverburn Festival 2016 will host a plethora of local bands in what promises to be a fantastic afternoon and evening of entertainment – something organiser Mark Boyd is keen to offer to the people of Levenmouth.

The first Silverburn Festival last year was a resounding success, with many revellers keen to see it brought back for a second time just hours after the curtain came down.

And proving this year looks to be just as popular – half of the tickets are already gone. Mark, from Positive Revolution, which is organising the festival in conjunction with Fife Employment Access Trust (FEAT), said they expect tickets to sell out before the big day, which features a number of local bands, including Leven rockers Break the Butterfly.

“The guys have been really keen to come play the festival after not being able to come last year and they’ll be a great addition to our festival!” said Mark. “We’ve also added singer-songwriter Cody Feechan to open the event as well as Dave Wood from ‘Burn the Maps’.

“Also, Diageo have come on board as a sponsor and have agreed to fund our marquee hire and Fife Council are supporting us through their Celebrating Fife initiative.

“The bands, stalls, games, bar and portaloos are all booked and good to go, so all in all it’s shaping up to be a brilliant day again!”

This year, ticket holders will be treated to hours of live entertainment from local bands such as SUPA & Da Kryptonites, Sauza Kings, Groucho Underdog, Big Cloud and Shambolics.

There will also be speakers from a number of local causes, helping to promote the work being done in the local community.

And if music isn’t your thing, there are still plenty of activities going on throughout the day at the park, which is still free to enter.

Not only can people enjoy some fantastic live music on the day, there is also a huge festival prize draw too.
