Spotted: Santas on Kinghorn Brae!

For groups of Santas have been spotted out running around the town’s braes.

But the secret is out, because it was members of the local lifeboat crews who have been getting in practice for their very first charity Santa Run!

And they are looking for more Santas to join them in their inaugural Santa Run and help raise funds for the RNLI. This new event is for the whole family, and will take place at Kinghorn golf course on Saturday, November 26.

Suit and hat collection will take place at the club house from 10.15am, with the fun run beginning at 10.45am. After the event, the annual Christmas coffee morning will be open until noon in the Church Hall, where refreshments and mince pies will be available.

Richard Malcolmson, event organiser and volunteer lifeboat crew member, said: “We would love to see lots of people taking part in this new event. The 1.5km course will be suitable for the whole family, and will be great fun.

“Adults who take part will get their very own Santa suit, and children will get an elf hat as part of their entry.

“We would encourage everyone to take part, and if they would like to raise money for the RNLI at the same time, we have an event page where they can track our fundraising progress; we have set a £500 target for this first event.” For more information, visit Kinghorn RNLI Lifeboat’s Facebook page. Richard added: “We would like to get everyone to enter as soon as possible, so that we can ensure we have enough suits and hats!

“It will be a great event to participate in, and the sight of all these Santas and elves on the edge of the golf course will be fantastic! In doing so, you will also be helping to support one of Scotland’s busiest lifeboat stations.”
