Springsteen Sessions hit the road to honour The Boss

Scotland’s very own The Springsteen Sessions - one of only a handful to cover the work of Springsteen - have dates lined up across the central belt and down in the Borders over the coming months.

On Friday, they are at the Teviot Debating Hall at Edinburgh University for the first in a series of evenings celebrating the music of the Boss and the E Street Band.

The Springsteen Sessions emerged from Brilliant Disguise, a tribute band of musicians from Glasgow, Lanarkshire and Edinburgh.

Since its name change, it has been kept busy with gigs across Scotland and England.

Word of mouth is starting to generate growing audiences too - so much so their forthcoming gig in Newcastle, their first ever in the city, has already sold out.

In January they filled the Byre Theatre in St Andrews, and they return to the Kingdom for a gig at Rothes Halls on April 23; their second at the Glenrothes venue.

Before then they play Edinburgh this evening followed by gigs at Haddington Corn Exchange (Feb 19), Hawick Town Hall (27th), Howden Park, Livingston (March 5), Brunton Hall, Musselburgh (26th) and The Garage, Glasgow (May 6)

The Springsteen Sessions celebrate the music of Springsteen from early tracks such as ‘Rosalita’ right up to his more recent work - and it takes on all of his epic songs such as ‘Jungleland’ and ‘Born To Run.’

‘We may not look like them, but we sure sound like them’’ said singer Dougie Robertson as he kick-started the recent gig at the Byre.
