A cycle stunt team will roll into Anstruther's Bankie Park with a thrilling show to help raise awareness of local cycling groups.

The stars of Scotland’s cycling community ‘The Clan’ have appeared to over 100,000 people live, over one million on television, and over 30 million with their awe inspiring online videos, and now these stunts are to be acted out for a local audience attending at the Bike In The Park event from noon-3.30pm.

The Clan was formed four years ago by YouTube sensation Danny Macaskill who has become one of the most famous cyclists in the world, earning stunt celebrity after releasing videos, such as his epic online film ‘The Ridge’.

Now the talented group will be showing off their talents on a custom-built stunt rig. Event organisers have said: “Expect to see bikes flying over your heads, doing amazing skilful tricks, big drops, leaping gaps and even riding over each other!”

Other attractions on the day will include Dr Bike, who will teach you how to repair your bike, Peachy Keen, who uses pedal power to make your own smoothie, and lots of other stalls, games, refreshments.

The Bike In The Park event hopes to raise awareness of the Anstruther Cycling Group, and attract further funding following a recently awarded grant from the Helen Main Charitable Trust.

Andrew Peddie, chair of Anstruther Community Council who is sponsoring the show, said: “We are really looking forward to this event. This will help kick-start the second phase of our plans for shared-use paths to promote health, tourism, economy and the environment through cycling”.
