Following on from the announcement last week that the creators of north-east Fife based The Singing Kettle, Cilla Fisher and Artie Trezise plan to retire from the performing side of the business early next year, the company have begun the search to find a new star for the favourite children’s entertainers.
Cilla explained: “we are looking for the right person to continue the success. It’s a once in a life time job opportunity and I have loved every moment of the past 30 years. Now is the time for us to step down and bring in a new female member to join Gary and Kevin.”
There will be an initial application and audition process for potential stars and the opportunity to audition in front of the existing Singing Kettle cast.
Artie said: “It may sound a little like ‘who can fill Cilla’s shoes’ but we are really open minded as to what the new member should bring to the show.
“We want to see as many people as possible before we make the final decision. Cilla and I are really excited about the process and the opportunity it gives us to shape the show for the future.”
Auditions will take place on Sunday, November 4.
Full details are available at www.singingkettle.com of the Singing Kettle’s history and an outline profile of the new cast member as well as how to apply for this unique position.
Cilla continued, “If I can give any tips to the applicants it would be to bring their biggest smile with them along with bundles of personality.”
