Fife Coast and Countryside Trust cleans up at awards

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust (FCCT) has won four National Awards, along with three platinum grades and seven gold grades, in the Loo of the Year Awards.

The Trust manages 13 public toilets on behalf of Fife Council at sites across the Kingdom, all of which received recognition in Local Authority Public Toilet Awards category.

The Fife Coast and Countryside Trust is an independent charity dedicated to giving everyone the opportunity to experience Fife’s wonderful coast and countryside, including many of the Kingdom’s most important wildlife sites and 15 stunning beaches around the coast.

Fife Coast and Countryside Trust received National Awards in four categories, as well as being presented with a the Loo of the Year Standards of Excellence Award.

The awards were:

• National Winner (Scotland) In-house Cleaning Team;

• National Category Scotland Parks and Gardens – Aberdour Black Sands;

• National Category Scotland Car Parks – Craigmead;

• National Category Scotland Beaches – Elie Ruby Bay.

Robbie Blyth, operations manager for Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, said: “We are delighted to have the work of cleaning and litter picking teams recognised at these prestigious awards.

“It recognises the work and commitment of both our full-time and seasonal staff in maintaining these facilities to a high standard.

The Loo of the Year Awards and associated Washroom Cleaner of the Year Awards for cleaning staff, have been identifying the best washrooms since 1987 and are recognised as standard setters for all those who provide ‘away from home’ facilities.
