Our Maggie’s Centre, the charity which provides free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their family and friends, is delighted to announce that the Maggie’s Culture Crawl Edinburgh is returning for a second year.

Part walk, part cultural adventure, the event gives participants the chance to explore Edinburgh discovering cultural, architectural and artistic delights along the way.

The culture crawl starts at 6pm on Friday, September 23, from Fettes College and takes in 10 miles of the city, featuring the Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh College of Art and the Scottish National Gallery with performances from famous organist John Kitchen and the National Youth Choir of Scotland, painting by Edinburgh-based artist Nicky Henderson and many more delights, all while raising money for Maggie’s Fife to continue to provide support.

Alison Harrow, centre head of Maggie’s Fife, who is taking part, said: “We had amazing feedback from people who participated in last year’s event and I’m sure that this year will be equally spectacular. I am looking forward to the walk and enjoying the wonderful cultural gems which Edinburgh has to offer.

“Maggie’s Fife relies on the donations of the local community. Please get behind us so that we can continue to offer our high quality programme of emotional, social and practical support to anyone affected by cancer.”

Alison would love other Fife participants to join the walk with her.

Lorraine Brown a participant last year said: “What an amazing evening we had – fantastic company and a stop every few miles for refreshments and culture made the evening go quickly. “I experienced some aspects of Edinburgh that I didn’t know existed, and knowing that we were raising funds for Maggie’s at the same time made it even more special.”

Registration is £25 and participants are asked to raise a minimum of £100. A fund raising pack is available from the Maggie’s Centre or online.
